Born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland in the “DMV” (DC, MD, VA) area, Kenneth Starkes is the youngest of a family of four to James H. Starkes of Virginia and Louise C. Starkes of Quebec City. Starkes wooed his wife, Doreen, in 2002 and continues to enamor her. He is a man of God who enjoys spending time with his family. Starkes often shares how he made some decisions that did not lead to the best outcomes and how he spent time stuck in detrimental situations due to those decisions. However, throughout his life Starkes began to grow, learn and understand who he was including his “why.” His belief is that by acknowledging the concerns (the challenges that hold someone back), creating a plan for change, implementing the plan and setting benchmarks to ensure progress, anyone can chase their dreams and their “why”.
Starkes embarked upon fulfilling his mission with three decades of relevant experience from his work in from coaching, corporate work environment experience and training in the school system. A few of Starkes’ invaluable life experiences that steered his way follow:
Starkes’ adds unabashed strategic approaches that foster a space where diverse voices are unearthed, resulting in fresh new ways of relationship building and problem solving.
Starkes embarked upon fulfilling his mission with three decades of relevant experience from his work in from coaching, corporate work environment experience and training in the school system. A few of Starkes’ invaluable life experiences that steered his way follow:
- Director of Wiley H. Bates Boys & Girls Club of Annapolis,
- Wiley H. Bates and Crofton Middle School Behavioral Specialist with Anne Arundel County Public Schools,
- Supervisor, Shipping and Receiving, Raytheon/STX,
- Men's Basketball, Goddard Space Flight, Head Coach Center, 11 years,
- Marlboro Boys and Girls Club Head Coach Basketball & Football, 5 years,
- Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) Football Coaching Staff with Bishop McNamara High School, four (4) years,
- Co-leader of Ties That Bind Youth Mentoring Ministry with First Christian Community Church,
- Behavioral Specialist at Annapolis Senior High School
- Anne Arundel County Basketball League Coach, and
- Outreach partner with Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis, Maryland.

Community Transitions, Inc., is organized exclusively for the purposes of youth development and mentoring, fostering national and international amateur sports competition, more specifically “to guide youth through developmental, leadership, athletic and social activities to restore,
